DTC Buying & Planning Intern
POSITION SUMMARY
The DTC Buying & Planning Intern is a highly collaborative role that will support the DTC Buying & Planning team at Alexander Wang. This internship will assist in an entire seasonal cycle of the DTC Buying & Planning team, including market preparation, sample management, product knowledge and training, competitor analysis and weekly reporting. The ideal candidate will be curious about the relationship between product, sales planning and the end consumer.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support day-to-day operations of buying and planning team through assisting daily tasks of managing product lifecycle from pre to post-market
- Perform various administrative tasks for buying, planning, and allocation including but not limited to: updating weekly reports, tracking deliveries, and ad hoc projects
- Organize and pull samples during market week
- Assist with system and data management, including markdown and product reserve files
- Create seasonal product knowledge books and store training documents
- Participate in store visits and in-store/virtual trainings
- Perform competitor analysis to identify new/key trends and sales opportunities
- Build relationships and work cross-functionally with other teams
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be enrolled in an Undergraduate degree program; preferably courses related to Business, Finance, or merchandising.
- Strong understanding of retail math
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; specifically, VLOOKUP function and pivot table
- Strong understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint
- Must have availability of two days a week, on-site (preferably Monday and Wednesday)
