GRADUATE STUDENT WORKER

POSITION DESCRIPTION


CENTER FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT 


POSITION: NextGen Service Corp Office Assistant
 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports office operations by maintaining office systems and supporting the staff and work of the NextGen Service Corps Program.
 
JOB DUTIES:
Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; assists NextGen Service Corps director with scheduling and planning, maintains filing systems; assists with clerical functions; supports office and interoffice communications; assists with events, meeting and orientation planning, orders and maintains office supplies and equipment.
 
· Forward information by receiving and distributing communications; collecting and mailing correspondence; copying information; etc.
· Assist with the planning and implementation of events, meetings, and orientations for NextGen Service Corps.

· Operate other office equipment such as printers, copy machines, fax machines. May serve as liaison with service and vendor personnel.
· Perform research and data gathering activities and help prepare reports or summaries of information.
·  Coordinate and organize meetings and other NextGen Service Corps activities and functions.
·  Schedule or obtain use of rooms and may set up rooms and equipment for use.
· Files documents and may be responsible for developing or modifying filing practices, including use of electronic rather than paper records.
· Attend and participate in meetings and committees and may take minutes or notes and perform follow-up activities for NextGen Service Corps.
·  Assist in developing or revising procedures, practices and forms.
·  Coordinate social media for the NextGen Service Corps Program.
 
 
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Office Experience - General, Scheduling, Meeting Planning, Dependability, Attention to Detail, Administrative Writing Skills, Ability to follow a project from beginning to end, Strong communication and organizational skills, Comfortable working against deadlines, team, welcomes diversity and enjoys working with people from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.


EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: October 2022 to August 2023 (with a two-year commitment preferred)
 
WORK SCHEDULE: up to 20 hours per week; flexible part-time hours.
