DMcL Grant Writing Fall 2022 Internship

The position is a non-paid, credit-based co-op internship, with a time commitment of 15 (3 credits) OR 20 (4 credits) per week.

The CHSS Digital Media CoLab (DMcL) is looking for creative and talented interns to provide support in seeking out appropriate potential grant opportunities for the DMcL, and potentially assist others with grants being proposed or in progress. Projects would be restricted to those that would include various academic and administrative departments and programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Exceptional written communications skills is the prime requirement. Also required are creativity, attention to detail, and excellent proofreading, editing, and verbal communications skills.
 
You should be reliable, self-motivated, well-organized, and have excellent time-management skills. Being able to set priorities and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects is important. Technology is a critical skill for almost any organization, therefore an appropriate level of technical skills is expected, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and Google Drive. Being familiar with both Windows and Mac is a plus, but not required.
 
The successful candidate will:
  • identify and research potential grant, donor, and/or partnership opportunities 
  • provide essential research for the development of grants proposal development and writing in conjunction with faculty maintain and grow a calendar of available grants and annual deadlines 
  • edit, proofread, and draft grant proposals 
  • provide administrative support, as needed 
  •  You should feel confident doing detailed research and have good analytical skills. 
  • be detail-oriented, well organized, self-motivated, and an effective multitasker
  • work well in a deadline driven environment
  • be able to work individually as well as part of a team
  • provide exceptional customer service
 
At the conclusion of this experience the intern will be able to apply the experience gained towards professional and academic opportunities. The intern may be given opportunities to make decisions in execution of projects as well as the opportunity to self-start projects.
