Graduate Student Worker - CAST Support Coordinator

Position Overview

Provides support to the Center for Academic Success & Tutoring (CAST) in areas of administration, customer service, supervision and presentation of CAST programs and services including the coordination of the tutoring schedule, presenting at workshops, student outreach, leading undergraduate student workers and data analysis.

Primary Responsibilities

Administration 25%
●      Coordinates and maintains the tutoring schedule
●     Supports Cases feature in Navigate by connecting students to available academic support
●     Reaches out to students with upcoming appointments or missed sessions
●     Communicates with students regarding academic status and next steps
●     Assists in the coordination of activities with special programs and other academic departments
●     Serves as backup support to the Program Associate in checking and responding to CAST e-mail, tutorial services and overseeing tutors and desk assistants

Customer Service 30%
●     Assists students in scheduling appointments and answers questions about CAST
●     Answers phones and live chat communications while directing students to the appropriate contact
●      Represents CAST and participates in campus events such as Orientations, Transfer Days, Open House, Freshmen Welcome, CAST events, and professional development events

Supervision 30%
● Supports supervision for undergraduate Desk Assistants in CAST centers
●     Guides Undergraduate Desk Assistants in professional customer service and logistics of the tutoring center
●     Observes CAST peer tutoring, peer academic coaching and supplemental instruction sessions per semester

Presentation 15%
●      Creates, prepares and conducts group and individual presentations/workshops in classroom and out of classroom on various academic development topics
